Most of you prolly know this, but I’ll state this again: I hate commercial music. Any music done with money as inspiration is bad. No matter the artist, that’s why I was a bit disappointed when I found out that Wolfgang Gartner had produced a song with Will-I-Am from the Black Eyed Peas (which is one of the groups I hate the most). Luckily Paul David took the liberty to remix the original and making it a whole lot better, now it sounds just like should’ve sounded from the start.
I’ve said this a ton of times and I’ll say it again. I’ve been fuckin’ lazy and unmotivated, hence the lack of posts. I even considered closing down the blog since I can’t access my old files on my other PC and the time and the cost of running this blog is greater than the satisfaction I get. Also, I’m not used to use my MacBook as my only computer. But, I’ll give it another shot.
I’ve got a ton of older songs that I want to share with you, I’m not totally updated with the newest releases and you prolly have seen these tunes elsewhere. Dunno, but I like these!
I love Hemingway. Not the novelist, but the guy who makes the most chilling yacht-y vibed disco tunes. His Slowburner mix has rocked my playlist for a few months now, I just love the funky moogy bass and the mellow pads with the arping melody that reminds me of the older Daft Punk. Seriously, check this out.
The French fidget monster duo, Mustard Pimp, are up to something big. According to the rumours, their debut album will feature other huge artists too like Skrillex and Jimmy Urine from Mindless Self Indulgence. Dim Mak sent me a preview of their upcoming release and I just thought that you might like it : )
I don’t know who this Rex guy is, but he make some nice tunes and mashups, especially this Wolfgang Gartner/Deadmau5 vs. Ke$ha mashup. Moved the crowd really nicely last time I played : ) heads up for my friend Lastdear for linking this.
Madeon is one sick French kid, not only did he win the Pendulum remix contest, he also managed to land a remix of Yelle’s Que Veux Tu on their upcoming release. I love the funky bass and the micro sampling in Madeon’s tunes. Funk Funk!
Dim Mak also sent me another tune, I don’t usually dig Dutch housy tracks, but I’ll post this ’cause it’s Dada Life and Bassjacker doesn’t use the fucking annoying vocal sampling 99% of the Dutch guys does, so, kudos to him too! Really, it has a nice melody and it’s cool.
Fedde Le Grand is the shit. No wait, take the word “the” out of that sentence. He’s just shit. But luckily Mightyfools manages the following track a bit. It’s an excellent sellout tune if you do those. I find it slightly annoying but blogworthy, you just might like it.
Haha oh wow, I guess I haven’t posted trance here like… ever? But I just happen to like the newest Final Fantasy game and this dude from USA called BetoCeba or something, made the most epic remix of the already good battle theme. I’ve been rocking to this song for months. Enjoy or burn.
I can’t really remember where I got this song from. Prolly from Dim Mak too. Silly guys, first they threat to sue me for over 20 000 USD and then they spam my mail. But it’s ok, since the music usually is at least good. But this tune is mad. Mad, I said!
This guy called Charles LowTon has the most fucked up name ever so I won’t even try to spell it here, but he’s from Poland and apparently it’s an awesome place to live if you wanna freeze make filthy electro (I oughta know, Finland ain’t that warm either #whatthefuckamIwriting). This guy knows how to distort those basslines, I downloaded almost all of his tunes and they were all great, I suggest you do the same. Google Charles LowTon, Imma too lazy to link :(
I hate long posts and you should too. Sorrryyyy, luckily an American gal promised to start writing here with me, let’s not let this die! Haukkasan, you must do your best too!
Hey hey yo yo, guess who has got a treat for ya all. Wolfgang Gartner and Joel aka. Deadmau5 made a collab track that has spread all through the blog-o-sphere as an untitled track. Well, get ya facts straight, the track Animal Rights, will be released the 6th of September on Beatport so keep ya eyes open =)
